Xavi Simons has been making headlines. On Friday, the Dutch forward nearly dealt a blow to Didier Deschamps’ French team by scoring a goal that could have cost them a draw, but it was ultimately disallowed after VAR review. The day after this match, questions about his future resurfaced, and the news doesn’t look good for PSG.
Hyped from a young age, Xavi Simons has high expectations. Developed at Barcelona, the Dutchman opted to join PSG to kickstart his career at a top club.
However, he hasn’t managed to establish himself in the French capital, instead finding success with PSV Eindhoven and more recently RB Leipzig. While his future was supposed to be decided after the Euros, Xavi Simons may have already made up his mind.
“We’ll see after the Euros”
“My future? I don’t know yet. I’m here, happy, with my national team. We’ll see after the Euros what happens. Do I want to return to Paris? I was happy in Paris, things happened. I was in Leipzig this season. After the Euros, we’ll see. I also see that the fans always wish me the best, and that’s good,” said the Dutch forward in the mixed zone after facing the French team on Friday. On Saturday, however, the German press indicates that Xavi Simons has made his decision.
Simons heading to Bayern!
According to Florian Plettenberg’s information, Xavi Simons has expressed his desire to join Bayern Munich to the club’s officials. The German club intends to propose a loan with an obligation to buy to PSG. Max Eberl, the sporting director, is pushing to secure Xavi Simons’ future.
