Qualified for the Champions League semi-finals, Real Madrid eliminated Manchester City in the previous round.
Recently, Bernardo Silva spoke out about the Casa Blanca, referring to it as “strange”. Speaking at a press conference on Monday ahead of the match against Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti responded to Pep Guardiola’s player.
Real Madrid got their revenge. Last season, the Merengues were knocked out by Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals.
This year, it was the Casa Blanca who emerged victorious from their double encounter against the Skyblues, in the Champions League quarter-finals. A few days after this elimination, Bernardo Silva spoke out about Real Madrid, whom he considers to be a “strange” team.
“The Real Madrid team is a strange one. Sometimes, you feel like you have control of the game and out of nowhere, they’ll run twice (on the counterattack) and score two goals because their individual players are very good. They’re so fast and strong on the counter that it’s not easy to contain them. If you attack with too many players, they break very quickly on the counter. If you don’t attack with enough players, you feel like you’re not being effective enough to properly attack them. So, it’s difficult to make these little decisions in the game,” Bernardo Silva shared.
“Last year, they had fun and this year, we’re having fun.”
Speaking at a press conference on Monday ahead of the first leg match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final, Carlo Ancelotti responded to the remarks from Manchester City’s player: “As for me, I don’t know. We’re not strange. I think the weight of the shirt matters in this competition, like the history, but I have nothing to say to Bernardo Silva. He’s a fantastic player. Last year, they had fun and this year, we’re having fun. That’s football.”
