The summer of 2024 promises to be eventful at Real Madrid, with both arrivals and departures shaping the team’s future.

As the Spanish club prepares to welcome French superstar Kylian Mbappé, they bid farewell to one of their greatest midfielders in history, German maestro Toni Kroos, who has decided to hang up his boots after Euro 2024.

In contrast to Kroos, Luka Modric seems inclined to continue his journey with the club.

“I’ve always said I wanted Real Madrid to be my last club,” the Croatian international revealed this week. “I aim to retire in Madrid, but let’s see how things unfold. I hope it comes to fruition. It would be a dream for me to retire at the club of my life,” he added. After Modric and Kroos, another historical figure at Real Madrid has made an announcement regarding his short-term future.

This player is Nacho Fernandez. In an interview, the Madrid defender discussed his immediate future.

As a perpetual squad player, the Spanish defender’s contract expires at the end of the season. And it seems he has made a clear decision about his immediate future, although he hasn’t verbalized it yet.

“I’ve decided what I’ll do at the end of the season, but I won’t say it now; it’s not the day, it’s not the moment,” Nacho stated on Onda Cero radio. “But nothing that happens will change my decision, whether it’s winning the Champions League or the Euros,” the Spaniard concluded.

These announcements reflect significant personal changes and decisions within the club, signaling a period of transition for Real Madrid.
