Will Real Madrid be able to complete the Trent Alexander Arnold deal?
It’s a case that’s stirring up both Spain and England. For several weeks, the name Trent Alexander Arnold has been circulating persistently in the Spanish capital. Following Dani Carvajal’s terrible injury, the Merengues set their sights on the Liverpool player to eventually replace the Whites’ captain. And while his contract with the Reds is up this summer, the Madrid side tried to bring him in this winter, to no avail.
Nothing will change his mind.
In England, the management is doing everything it can to convince him to continue his adventure, offering an extension with an exit clause for the summer of 2026, with the ambition of collecting a large check rather than seeing him leave on a free in July.
And while several English media outlets are reporting that discussions are continuing with “TAA,” the daily Marca is adamant. The player recently refused an offer of an extension, and nothing will change his mind. He promised Real Madrid he would join La Liga this summer, and his decision has been confirmed. This would represent a huge coup for the Spanish champions, who would secure the services of one of the best full-backs in the world without spending a single transfer fee.
