Luka Modric’s future at Real Madrid seemed uncertain, but a last-minute revelation could change that.
Arriving in 2012 from Tottenham, Luka Modric has established himself as a pillar of Real Madrid and a club legend. With his contract expiring next June, much speculation has surrounded his future. But the Croatian midfielder has no intention of packing his bags.
Modric wants to stay in Madrid, with unwavering loyalty
According to the highly informed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Luka Modric wants to extend his stay at Real Madrid and continue wearing the Merengue jersey for another season. His desire is to stay at the club and be part of the team by signing a new contract until June 2026, he revealed this Tuesday.
Just like last year, when he renewed his contract for a one-year period, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has made Real Madrid his top priority. Once again, Modrić’s first choice and option remains Real Madrid, adds Fabrizio Romano. It remains to be seen whether the Madrid club will respond favorably to this request for an extension.
