After Real Madrid’s easy victory at home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, against Alavés in La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti spoke out.
In front of microphones and cameras, he praised his team’s performance. He also commented on the future of Kroos and Modric at Real Madrid.
Read below the full interview:
The future of Kroos and Modric: “These are individual situations. The club will assess them after the final.”
Vinicius’ progress: “He has improved tremendously. His finishing, his ability to find space… he’s in a spectacular moment. He’s close to another Champions League. He’s doing really well. He couldn’t be doing better.”
Relaxation: “I will rest, like the players. The final is coming up. This week, we need to rest. Then we’ll increase the physical workload a bit, and the next week will be more tactical.”
Kroos’ decision: “Nobody is worried, neither the club, nor Toni, nor me. His future is secondary now. The Champions League is all that matters. Nothing else.”
Bellingham: “We ask him to play a bit deeper. He’s more comfortable there, he prefers it. He doesn’t like playing so high. And he has more defensive qualities than Vinicius and Rodrygo.”
Lunin: “Everything is very clear between us. Lunin will play one match and Courtois the other (in the last two matches of La Liga). It’s a great statistic, so many matches without conceding. It’s a big part of the team’s success.”
His best La Liga? “Without a doubt, the best one I’ve experienced as a coach. We’re on cloud nine, but the most important match is still to come.”
