The Real Madrid appears to have already found Carlo Ancelotti’s successor. According to reports from Bild, in 2025, Real Madrid will be under the guidance of a new coach who embodies the club’s DNA. Xabi Alonso is set to join in 2025 following Ancelotti’s departure.
After an outstanding season, notably crowned with the Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen, the Spanish coach had been approached by several clubs, including Real Madrid. However, Alonso opted to stay for another year with the German club.
This upcoming season is likely to be his last before potentially returning to Real Madrid as head coach, where he previously played a pivotal role for many years.
Ancelotti had a remarkable season recently, winning both La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid. Nevertheless, it appears that the Italian manager will leave at the end of the next season, possibly concluding his career as a coach. Despite persistent rumors in 2023 linking him to Brazil to take charge of a struggling Seleção, Ancelotti remains in Spain.
His current contract, set to expire at the end of June next year, has been extended by two years, tying him to the club until 2026. At 67 years old by then, Ancelotti seems as fit as ever and remains in sync with his team, despite the generation gap.
