At Real Madrid’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday, President Florentino Perez gave a keynote speech in which he touched on a number of important topics for the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Perez sent a warm message to Vinicius Junior, who failed to win the Ballon d’Or 2024 last month.

“We’re proud of a player like Vinicius. For us, and for most soccer fans, he is the best player in the world. Dear Vini, I want you to know that Real Madrid is proud of you, of everything you’ve had to endure on so many occasions, unjustly. These ordeals have forged the exceptional player you are today.”
A special mention for Mbappé
The Madrid president also hailed the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, which came to fruition this summer after a long wait.
“Mbappé’s arrival was one of the defining moments of the soccer world. As I said that day, he has made a considerable effort, far beyond what many could imagine. He’s already helped us win our first title: the European Supercup.”
A farewell to Kroos and Joselu
Finally, Florentino Perez paid tribute to two of the club’s key figures, Toni Kroos and Joselu Mato, who left Real Madrid this summer.
“It will be difficult to see a player like Kroos again, one of the greatest in our history and a legend of world soccer. His tribute on May 25 will be remembered as a moving and unforgettable moment. Dear Toni, thank you for everything you have given us. Real Madrid will always be your home.
I’d also like to thank Joselu, who helped us reach the last 15. Thank you, dear Joselu, for your dedication.”
With these statements, Florentino Perez once again underlined the club’s attachment to its players, past and present, while affirming its ambitions for the future
