Every transfer window, Florentino Perez’s Real Madrid animates the transfer market.

This summer is no exception, as the Madrid club is set to make a big splash. In addition to the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, the prodigy Endrick will also land in the Spanish capital.

Several other players, like Alphonso Davies, were expected to sign for the White House as well.

But things have changed now. The Real Madrid leadership, led by Florentino Perez, has ultimately decided to abandon two very serious pursuits up to this point.

As reported by Cadena COPE, the direction of Real Madrid has halted the operations for Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro.

The former has been tracked for years, and his contractual situation, with a deal expiring in 2025 at Bayern, made him a perfect target for this summer. As for the Frenchman, he was more of a future target, but quick action was needed due to the interest from several top European clubs for his services.

The spots are taken

Why such a turnaround? Well, in the case of the Canadian, there are two reasons. First, Ferland Mendy has proven to be at the required level in important matches this season.

Secondly, Real Madrid will put their trust in Miguel Gutierrez, a homegrown full-back who had a perfect season at Girona and for whom the Madridistas have an €8 million buy-back option. Mendy and the Spaniard will be the left-back pairing next season, closing the doors for Davies.

As for Leny Yoro, there are also two explanations. Firstly, the rise of Rafa Marin, a central defender loaned to Alavés this season, who is expected to return and play a role in the rotation, especially if Nacho leaves.

The Lille OSC is still asking for too much according to the media, which, however, does not reveal the amount requested by the Northerners for their prodigy. Regardless, it’s good news for PSG…
