Great news for the Italian coach of Real Madrid. After Luka Modric, Lucas Vázquez’s contract with Real Madrid has just been extended.
On June 30, Lucas Vázquez’s contract with Real Madrid was set to expire. However, it didn’t take long for the club to renew it.
Real Madrid has now offered him a new one-year contract. Thus, Lucas Vázquez will continue with the club until June 2025.
It’s worth noting that on Wednesday, July 17, veteran Luka Modric was also extended for the same duration.
“Real Madrid and Lucas Vázquez have agreed to extend the contract of our player, who will remain with the club until June 30, 2025. Lucas Vázquez joined Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of 16 and played in all the youth teams from Juvenil C to Castilla in 2014. Over his nine seasons with the first team, he has been part of one of the most successful periods in our history, winning 21 titles: 5 Champions League titles, 4 Club World Cups, 3 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Ligas, 1 Copa del Rey, and 4 Spanish Super Cups. Lucas Vázquez has played 349 matches for our team, scoring 36 goals. He is also a Spanish international, having played 9 matches for the national team,” Real Madrid communicated about the Spanish player.
With Toni Kroos no longer around to challenge Lucas Vázquez in training, the pleasure of wearing the white shirt will surely remain undiminished.
Having joined Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of 16, he is one of the longest-serving members of the squad.
His last contract extension was in the summer of 2021, when he signed for three years.
From now on, the player from Galicia will have his contract reviewed season by season, with a possible one-year extension for each of the club’s over-30 players nearing the end of their contracts.
