With rumors of a €1 billion Saudi bid, Real Madrid target Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams to replace Vinicius Jr.
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to a report from SPORT, the Brazilian winger intends to ask for a pay rise. He is currently one of Los Blancos’ highest-paid stars and is on the same terms as his superstar teammates Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. Under contract until 2027, Vinicius wants to extend his deal until 2029, in exchange for a substantial pay rise.
THE OVERALL PERSPECTIVE
Florentino Pérez is unlikely to give in to his demands, despite his desire to keep the player at the club. Rumors of a €1 billion (£840 million) bid from Saudi Arabia are likely to intensify. Real Madrid are reportedly considering a transfer fee in excess of €250 million (£209 million/$273 million). If Vinicius forces the club’s hand, it is believed they will pursue the services of Wirtz or Williams.
