It’s now official, Kylian Mbappé is a Real Madrid player, and the captain of the French national team has made sure to announce his signing with the Merengues before the start of the Euro. Eduardo Camavinga, his teammate in the national team and soon to be in the club as well, added his thoughts on Mbappé’s career choice.
The saga has been a hot topic for discussion over the past few years, and it’s finally concluded: Kylian Mbappé is no longer a PSG player. The 25-year-old forward declined to extend his contract this summer at Parc des Princes to ultimately join Real Madrid, where he signed a deal until 2029. It’s a career move that leaves a bitter taste for PSG management, but on the other hand, the Spanish outfit continues to celebrate Mbappé’s arrival. “The club he needed after PSG,” as they put it.
Speaking to Téléfoot on Sunday, Eduardo Camavinga shared his thoughts on Mbappé’s decision, soon to be his teammate at Real Madrid: “It’s the logical next step in his career. Real Madrid is the club he needed after PSG. For his personal and collective goals, it’s the club that will help him,” says the French midfielder of the Merengues, who welcomes Mbappé with immense joy.
While Camavinga and other big names in the Real Madrid locker room have been ecstatic about Mbappé’s signature for the past week, the decision seems hard to swallow within PSG. President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, now at odds with his former star, even refused to give him an official farewell at Parc des Princes. But that hasn’t deterred Real Madrid, who now welcome Mbappé with open arms.
