Real Madrid could be heading for an epic end to the season. As La Liga champions, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad still has a shot at clinching the club’s fifteenth Champions League title.
Yet, even after this season concludes, all eyes will likely remain on the Merengues, as Kylian Mbappé is expected to make his way to the Spanish capital. His arrival could spark significant changes for Jude Bellingham.
Few would have predicted such heights for Real Madrid at the start of the season. Missing Karim Benzema, Vinicius and his teammates managed to secure the Liga title, marking an exceptional season in terms of points, and they still have a shot at the Champions League. On June 1st, they’ll face Borussia Dortmund in the final of the most prestigious competition, the most crucial match of their season. While Kylian Mbappé might be watching this clash from afar, his likely arrival in Spain could bring about a major shift for Jude Bellingham. Will Bellingham be pushed further back with Mbappé’s arrival?
Arriving last summer from Borussia Dortmund, Jude Bellingham has truly impressed all observers. Firstly, with his rapid adaptation, and then with his positioning on the field. Traditionally a midfielder, the English international (29 caps, 3 goals) has sometimes found himself playing as a number nine under Carlo Ancelotti. However, according to Marca, Mbappé’s probable arrival could see the 20-year-old pushed more into a central role.
A change that doesn’t seem to faze Ancelotti
While Mbappé’s almost confirmed arrival delights most Madridistas, some are concerned about the impact the Frenchman might have on Real Madrid’s balance. Carlo Ancelotti, however, doesn’t appear worried. Marca recalls the words of the former AC Milan coach, who once said, “Give me different players, and I’ll know how to use them.” Now, it remains to be seen how this will play out on the field.
