Real Madrid worried: Rüdiger risks big before Arsenal

While Real Madrid is still waiting for UEFA’s decision following the opening of an investigation into four of its players, the case of Antonio Rüdiger is causing concern.

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision is expected to be announced tomorrow, Friday. A procedure was opened following the Madrid players’ celebrations after Atlético’s Champions League elimination. Vinicius, Mbappé, Ceballos, and especially Rüdiger are involved.

In principle, the first three will receive a financial fine and a one-match suspended suspension (applicable in the event of a repeat offense within a year), based on similar precedents.

Rüdiger’s case, however, is different. His throat-slitting was not appreciated at all and is considered a threat. The German defender is not immune to receiving a one-match suspension, claims Marca.

Tchouaméni suspended
The committee’s decision is all the more anticipated given that Aurélien Tchouaméni is already certain to miss the match in London. The Frenchman must serve one game for accumulating cards and will therefore not be able to play in defense, as Ancelotti sometimes likes to do.

If Rüdiger is also suspended, Real Madrid’s central defense against the Gunners would then consist of David Alaba and Raúl Asencio. Not necessarily good news given the level the Austrian displayed against Sociedad last Tuesday…
