This Saturday, Racing Santander, Granada and other clubs announced the death of footballer, Nico Hidalgo.
A Spanish midfielder who had notably signed for Juventus, in 2014. The Cantabrian club “associates itself with the pain of his family and friends for this irreparable loss, while sending its most sincere condolences and announcing that it will observe a minute’s silence in his memory before the LaLiga Hypermotion match”, Racing Santander explained in a statement.
Although he never played for Juventus, he spent time on loan at Granada and then Cadiz, before transferring to Racing in 2018. He played 30 matches for the green-and-white team and then joined amateur side Extremadura UD, where he hung up his boots after being diagnosed with a serious illness.
