Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has thrown his support behind Kylian Mbappé, hoping to see him shine at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Mbappé, who joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, has struggled to live up to expectations since his arrival. However, the Frenchman did get his name on the scoresheet in the defending champions’ LaLiga win over Getafe on Sunday December 1.
The 25-year-old striker scored in the 38th minute, while Jude Bellingham converted a penalty to seal a 2-0 victory for Real Madrid.
Speaking about Mbappé, Courtois said: “Kylian Mbappé is a player of very high quality. He’s like a bottle full of liquid that doesn’t seem to flow, but ends up being emptied all at once. And that’s what’s going to happen to him.”
After several years of unsuccessful attempts to recruit the Frenchman, Real Madrid finally succeeded in signing him this summer, despite PSG’s efforts to retain him. Mbappé, who had long dreamed of playing at the Santiago Bernabéu, finally fulfilled his ambition this season.
