In just a few days, the first players of Real Madrid will return to training, with the first matches scheduled in a little over two weeks.
In 4 days from now, Carlo Ancelotti, his coaching staff, and the non-international players will return to Ciudad Real Madrid to begin preparations for the new season. It’s always an exciting time, especially for supporters who get to see new faces and the new kits being worn.
However, fans will need to be patient as two international competitions are still ongoing, with originally 16 Real Madrid players involved. Now, only two remain in Europe: Dani Carvajal with Spain and Jude Bellingham with England.
7 players are unavailable for the USA tour, except…
As is customary every summer except during the Covid period, Real Madrid’s pre-season will be split into two phases: the first from July 15 to 28 in Madrid to begin training, followed by the second phase in the United States with three scheduled matches, including a Clasico.
Unfortunately for American fans, the Madrid squad won’t be at full strength for these matches as some players will still be on vacation or not yet ready to play. According to journalist Arancha Rodriguez, 7 players will definitely not travel to the United States, unless they decide to cut short their holidays.

These include Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fede Valverde, all having reached at least the semi-finals of Copa América or Euro 2024. The club believes it’s crucial to allow at least 3 weeks of vacation for its players.
Regarding Kylian Mbappé, the new number 9 for Real Madrid, it’s worth noting that he will interrupt his vacation on July 16 for his official presentation at the Bernabeu. He will then return to rest, and if he takes his full 3 weeks of vacation, he won’t return until early August directly to Valdebebas.
