In a video posted on his social media, Kylian Mbappé has officially announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. After months of speculation, discussions, and rumors, the long-awaited decision is now confirmed.
At 25 years old, Mbappé joined PSG in 2017 and has since been a cornerstone of the club. In 2022, he extended his contract for an additional two seasons, with an option for a third, but chose not to activate it.
In his message to the fans, Mbappé expressed his emotions and gratitude towards the club that saw him grow as a player and as a person. He acknowledged everyone who contributed to his journey, from coaches to teammates, as well as club executives and staff. However, he did not mention Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in his thanks.
Despite challenges and controversies, Mbappé emphasized his love for PSG and his appreciation for the supporters, acknowledging that he may not always have lived up to their love, but that he always gave his best on the field.
This announcement comes shortly after PSG’s disappointing elimination in the Champions League semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund. Despite this setback, Mbappé stated he has no regrets and needs a new challenge after this season.
His departure marks the end of an era for Paris Saint-Germain and opens the door to new opportunities for the talented French forward.
