Bayern Munich has undergone some changes in its staff. Thomas Tuchel is now a thing of the past.
Arriving in March 2023 at the Bavarian club, the cap-wearing manager was shown the door at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The main reasons cited were the deemed insufficient performances. Indeed, the club ended the season without any trophies, a first in 12 years.
To take the reins, the German club has set its sights on the Belgian and former Sky Blues player, Vincent Kompany.
For the freshly installed Kompany, the objective is to propel the club to its highest level.
Kompany’s integration into the club also brings back memories with his former Manchester City teammate, Leroy Sané. Nonetheless, he remains professional towards all the players of the club.
“At City, I was more than just a captain. So maybe things won’t be so different for Leroy as they were back then.
He’s a very talented player. My job is to get the best out of Leroy Sané and every player. I won’t make any distinctions,” he asserted.
As a reminder, this season under the guidance of Thomas Tuchel, Bayern finished third with 72 points in the Bundesliga standings and was eliminated in the semifinals by Real Madrid.
