Former Sevilla player and Brazilian national team member Pintinho has labeled Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior as a “clown” and “provocateur.”

These comments are related to Vinicius Junior’s fight against racist insults. Although his remarks were condemned in Spain, Brazil, and elsewhere, Pintinho has revisited his statements.

Speaking to Radio MARCA, Pintinho clarified his earlier remarks. “A few days ago, I said that Vinicius was a bit of a clown. People here support me. Children may not agree with me, but those who know football know that I am telling the truth. I do not like some of his attitudes.”

“I have nothing against Vinicius. I want him to continue to grow, but I did not like him saying that Spain is a racist country. I have been living here for 45 years, and Spain is not a racist country. If he is not happy in Spain, he should leave. He should go to England or somewhere else.”

Vinicius was not the only Real Madrid player in Pintinho’s crosshairs. He also criticized Endrick Felipe, who will join Santiago Bernabéu this summer, particularly media comparisons between the 17-year-old and Brazilian legend Pelé.

“He is a player who has not yet achieved anything in football. The media is what it is, they talk a lot about players. The other day, I saw comparisons with Pelé… He has qualities, but comparing him to Pelé is very strong.”
