Currently in Real Madrid’s sights, Arsenal’s French defender William Saliba has declared that he does not want to leave London.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, William Saliba seems indifferent to the charm of Real Madrid. “I am really happy here at Arsenal. I have 2 and a half years left on my contract and I want to continue here,” he first said.
The player then went on to discuss his goals with the Guenners. “We are very close (to winning titles, editor’s note). We will continue.
Of course, when you don’t win trophies, it’s sad, but you have to continue. I am really sure that we will get there.
I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you leave this club and you don’t win anything, the fans will forget you. I want to win here,” he assured.
Real Madrid: William Saliba focused on Arsenal
William Saliba therefore has complete confidence in Mikel Arteta’s project. He wants to make all these years of work with Arsenal a reality.
That said, the player is not worried about his future in London. Asked about a possible contract extension discussion with Arsenal, the 23-year-old responded negatively.
“Not yet… because I still have a few years left on my contract. There is no rush at the moment. I am happy here at Arsenal. That’s all,” he suggested.
Although he is currently focused on his Arsenal career, William Saliba has expressed his appreciation for the comparisons with Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos.
“I like him, he is probably the best defender in history,” he also said of the Spanish defender.
While Real Madrid are preparing to book their place against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, William Saliba and Arsenal are almost through before the reception of PSV Eindhoven.
