Zinedine Zidane, the French legend, has a soft spot for this African star who played at the top level almost during the same period as him.

The former Real Madrid coach greatly admires the qualities of the ex-captain of the Super Eagles, Jay Jay Okocha.

For Zidane, the African star, who is now a Sports Minister in Nigeria, was a blend of several stars from his era.

According to the Frenchman, Jay Jay Okocha had the dribbling skills of Ronaldinho, the elegance of Bergkamp, and the technique of himself.

“Honestly, Okocha was top-level, I will never forget that player.

He was a mix of me, Denis Bergkamp, and Ronnie (Ronaldinho). I loved his ball control, his touches, his extraordinary vision of the game. Okocha wasn’t just a footballer, he was simply an artist,” he declared about the Nigerian.

Having played for PSG in France and Bolton in England, Jay Jay Okocha was clearly an artist on the field.

In every match, opposing defenders were wary of him because he could execute a dribble and create panic at any moment.

Even though he didn’t achieve the success of players like Zidane, Ronaldinho, or Bergkamp, there’s no doubt he still possessed incredible talent.
