In an interview with Cameroon Tribune, the head coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions discussed the challenges faced in his collaboration with the Cameroonian Football Federation.
While he acknowledges the ongoing difficulties, Marc Brys notes progress, particularly in his relationship with FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o Fils.
“… The collaboration with FECAFOOT has been very challenging. For instance, there were multiple incidents involving my assistant, who was removed from the sidelines several times. But I’d rather not dwell on the past, as things are improving. I am now in communication with the FECAFOOT president, who recently assured me of his support for the team’s well-being. I will continue working with FECAFOOT, even though some individuals still seem hesitant to fully embrace the current drive for change,” stated Marc Brys in an interview with Cameroon Tribune.
With qualification for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations now secured, the Belgian coach looks forward to a calmer period that will benefit the Indomitable Lions. He also expressed his gratitude to Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi for his steady support since his appointment.
“… I am naturally patient, and I believe we are on the right track. As long as everyone does their job with mutual respect, things will continue to improve. Thanks to the compromise between MINSEP and FECAFOOT, progress is being made—perhaps slowly, but progress nonetheless. The Minister of Sports and his team have provided us with consistent support, and we would like to thank Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi for his attentiveness and availability,” stated Marc Brys.
