Sidelined for the past three matches due to a muscle injury, FC Barcelona center-back Eric Garcia was initially expected to make his return in this Sunday’s derby (4:15 p.m.) against Espanyol.
It appears Garcia will ultimately miss the match against Espanyol
According to Mundo Deportivo, the former Manchester City defender has not fully recovered to face their Catalan rival, as he’s still experiencing discomfort in his adductors and hasn’t trained since Wednesday. In Garcia’s absence, Hansi Flick has called up young Andres Cuenca for Friday’s training. Cuenca, who has already joined the Barcelona squad six times this season, may therefore be available for the derby.
