Kylian Mbappé, already facing challenges on the pitch with Real Madrid, now finds himself embroiled in a new off-field controversy. However, this time, the French star is not at fault but rather a victim of his fame.

A 26-year-old Algerian man, under an order to leave French territory (OQTF), has been sentenced to three years in prison for committing eight snatch thefts in Toulouse between August and September.

France : Bad news for Mbappé as his name is linked to a theft case

This man, an admirer of Kylian Mbappé, approached his victims by asking, “Do you know Mbappé?” before assaulting them and snatching their jewelry in the metro. Already known to authorities for similar offenses in Paris, he had a criminal record. During his attacks, he stole eight gold chains in locations where his victims had no opportunity to defend themselves or react in time.

During his trial, the thief justified his actions by claiming he was under the influence of alcohol and committed the thefts to send money to his disabled mother. In addition to his prison sentence, he was ordered to compensate his victims, with payments ranging from €500 to €1,000 to cover the damages they suffered.
