In an interview with Nice-Matin, Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, spoke candidly about the situation surrounding Kylian Mbappé:
“My stance on Mbappé? I’m the president of the federation, not the coach. I frequently discuss matters with the coach, who shares his perspective before making decisions. My hope is for Kylian Mbappé to regain his form and everything he has brought to the team. I hope he can return as early as March 2025. Exclusion? Absolutely not. Kylian is in a more difficult phase right now, and he needs to overcome it to fully express his talent.”
In November, Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, also addressed Mbappé’s situation, emphasizing his mental state, which he deemed far from ideal:
“It’s a fact: he’s going through a tough period, and I fully support him. He wanted to join us, but I believe it’s better for him not to be present at the moment. Everyone has the right to go through difficult phases, whether physical or psychological. There are always interpretations, no matter what I say or don’t say. Sometimes it’s helpful to elaborate, and other times, silence is better,” he shared on TF1.
