Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take on Arsenal this Saturday in the Premier League clash. The winner of this clash will retain top spot in Europe’s most competitive league. On the eve of the clash, the Reds’ German coach appeared in a press conference and even paid tribute to one of his players.
Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the hardest-working player the world of football has ever known. But the Portuguese superstar has never been coached by Jurgen Klopp, the best coach in the world according to Gary Neville. The German coach, who has already worked with such exceptional players as Robert Lewandowski, Steven Gerrard, Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, has developed a particular affection for a new recruit at the Reds.
Indeed, on the eve of the clash with Arsenal on matchday 18 of the Premier League, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp appeared at a press conference. Arsenal are top of the Premier League table, a point behind Liverpool and Aston Villa, and the result of Saturday’s game will be important in the title race. But the German coach dwelt on one of his players, Wataru Endō, whom he considers to be the hardest-working player he has come across.
“He’s one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met. I’m glad the public can see him now. He gives something different to the team. He makes the tackles. He does that and his passing and awareness are really good,” he said.
Jurgen Klopp wary of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp faces one of the best teams in the Premier League this Saturday, if not the best. Currently top of the table, the Gunners play the Reds tonight for the Premier League lead, and Jurgen Klopp is very wary of Mikel Arteta’s men.
“We’re going to play against a very strong team. They’re better than last season. It’s a huge, great game. It’s great to meet them. We have to make sure we get there. A good home game and a real experience at Anfield. They looked like this last season. Our game against them here was great. In the end, we should have won it. They brought Rice and Havertz, and that doesn’t make it any worse. They have a good mix of fitness and technique. They train well,” explained Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp has good news for Liverpool
During the same press conference, Jurgen Klopp also delivered some good news. The German coach confirmed that his Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch will be ready for the match against Arsenal. However, Alexis McAllister and Diogo Jota will continue to be absent.
Regarding the injury to Scottish left-back Andy Robertson, Jurgen Klopp said: “He’s fine. We have to be patient. He can’t do all the physical work yet. There’s not much time left before his return. We hope it will be in January, but we don’t know,” he added.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side collapsed last season after Sadio Mané left for Bayern Munich. But since the start of this season, the Reds coach has found the best formula and is said to have put Sadio Mané’s departure behind him for good. Liverpool are banking on Salah, Luiz Diaz and Darwin Nunez to terrorise the Premier League. And this Saturday, the Reds still have a chance of regaining top spot if they topple leaders Arsenal. It promises to be an electric encounter between two Premier League giants.
