Another surprise in the Kylian Mbappe transfer drama with another unexpected twist. A surprise that seems to bring the French prodigy closer to Real Madrid.
In around ten days’ time, Kylian Mbappé will cross the crucial date of 1 January, marking a real turning point in his personal situation. The talent from Bondy, whose contract expires in June 2024, will then have the official freedom to discuss his future.
Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid a foregone conclusion?
It’s a situation that’s obviously arousing keen interest from the Spanish club, offering a new opportunity to recruit the PSG star, this time with the hope of concluding the coveted deal. In this ever-changing scenario, a major announcement has just emerged.
The programme El Chiringuito, via its journalist José Alvarez, has reported that a person very close to the French striker went to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Sunday evening to watch the game between Los Merengues and Villarreal. This person is said to have been particularly impressed by the Merengue’s newly refurbished stadium. Based on his information, José Alvarez believes that the more time passes, the closer Mbappe gets to the Spanish club.
Kylian Mbappe’s transfer, the versions are all over the place
While José Alvarez is putting forward his sources on the matter, Fred Hermel, the well-known journalist with Radio Monte Carlo and RMC Sport, is also shedding light on the matter. In a statement to Spanish newspaper AS, he claims that the French player is currently undecided about his future. According to Hermel, the player from Bondy has still not decided whether to extend his contract with PSG or take the risk of joining Real Madrid next summer.
“I know from a reliable source that Mbappé doesn’t know what he wants to do. We still don’t know whether he will extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) or whether he will contact Florentino Perez to announce his desire to wear the white shirt of the Spanish club. Doubt is a good thing in life, but if we abuse it, it turns into the opposite,” said Fred Hermel.
“Mbappé’s hesitation reflects that, deep down, he doesn’t really want to sign with Real Madrid. Otherwise, he would have already done so on one of the many occasions when he has received offers. If he really wanted Real, he wouldn’t have thought about staying in the Paris adventure, and he wouldn’t have been motivated by crazy things like becoming the French League’s all-time top scorer,” added Fred Hermel.
Real Madrid currently have other priorities
While waiting to take a serious look at the transfer of the PSG striker, Real Madrid are looking for a replacement for David Alaba, who is currently out for the rest of the season.
One of the first targets being considered by the Spanish club is Giorgio Scalvini. The 20-year-old Italian currently plays for Atalanta Bergamo.
One player could follow in Cristiano Ronaldo’s footsteps, but by taking an intermediate step. According to Spanish media outlet AS, Sporting CP’s young central defender Inacio (22) is also in the Spanish club’s sights. A more expensive option for Real Madrid is Antonio Silva. The Portuguese international plays for Benfica Lisbon and, at the age of 20, represents an attractive option. However, according to AS, his release clause stands at €100 million, making his arrival at the Spanish club more complex. Nevertheless, he remains one of the priorities of the Merengues’ sporting directorate.
Another potential central defender, revealed by AS, is William Pacho. The Ecuadorian international currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt and could also be called upon to replace the injured defender.
