Mohamed Salah has made a significant revelation regarding his future at Liverpool following their crucial win against Southampton. Once again, the Egyptian forward donned the hero’s cape, scoring twice to save the Reds from a potential slip-up against the Premier League’s bottom-placed team.
With his decisive brace, Salah continues to showcase his incredible form this season. Since joining Anfield in 2017, he has become a true club icon. However, the “Egyptian King” may be nearing the end of his journey with Liverpool this summer.
Out of contract next June, Salah admitted post-match that no extension offer has been made:
“We’re almost in December, and I still haven’t received an offer to stay. So, I’m probably closer to leaving than staying. You know, I’ve been with this club for many years. There’s no place like this… but there’s no extension offer right now. In the end, it’s not in my hands,” he told NBC Sports Soccer.
While a departure seems more likely, journalist Ben Jacobs reports that discussions may have taken place between Liverpool and Salah’s representatives about a potential extension. This leaves his future shrouded in uncertainty.
If Salah does leave Anfield, it would mark the end of a monumental chapter in Liverpool’s history. Could he sign off with a Premier League and Champions League double as a fitting farewell?
