Last night, Neymar Jr (32) had to leave the field due to injury during Al-Hilal’s 3-0 Asian Champions League victory against Esteghlal Tehran.
After the match, coach Jorge Jesus estimated that the Brazilian could be sidelined for at least two weeks. Neymar, however, didn’t seem too concerned: “I had a really bad cramp! I’ll have some tests done, but I hope it’s nothing more. It’s normal after a year out, the doctors had already warned me. I need to be careful and build up more game time.”
Al-Hilal also hopes to rely more on him, as his contribution has been limited since his arrival in the Saudi Pro League. According to Arriyadiyah, Neymar has missed 87% of Al-Hilal’s matches since signing in the summer of 2023. With this new injury, the former PSG star could accumulate nearly 400 days of absence since joining the club.
