Paul Pogba is finally starting to see a positive turn in his situation. Initially suspended for four years after testing positive for banned substances, the midfielder has had his ban reduced to 18 months.
This judicial decision opens the door for him to return to the pitch as early as March, although there are still doubts about his physical condition. However, this comeback is unlikely to happen in a Juventus jersey, as the club has expressed its intention to terminate his contract.
Since this summer, Olympique de Marseille, who already managed to bring in Adrien Rabiot, has been closely monitoring Pogba’s situation. While Mehdi Benatia, the club’s sporting director, remains discreet about any potential interest in the midfielder, he sought to quell the rumors. In an interview with TuttoSport, he stated: “Pat [Evra] and Paul are friends… Pogba is a Juventus player, and I won’t comment on that. On a personal level, I’m happy his suspension has been reduced, and that he’ll be able to play again soon.”
This statement seems to cool down the speculation, at least for now, about a potential move to Marseille. For the time being, Pogba remains suspended until March, leaving the question of his future still open.
