Manchester City is experiencing an unprecedented period after a heavy 4-0 home defeat to Tottenham. The Sky Blues, accustomed to success, have now suffered five consecutive losses — a first in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career.
This exceptional situation has sparked widespread debate as the team prepares to face Feyenoord in the Champions League. However, the Catalan coach remains unfazed.
“Why would I change? If I had changed in my first season, we would never have won six Premier League titles in eight years. It’s impossible,” Guardiola stated, defending his approach. “I won’t alter our way of playing… in life, nothing lasts forever.” He also pointed to the challenges posed by long-term injuries to key players like Rodri, Dias, Akanji, Stones, and Walker, yet expressed confidence in his squad’s abilities.
Despite the pressure, Guardiola remains optimistic: “I feel we will achieve great things this season. I’m not giving up. I know that when we lose, everything is questioned, but that’s the nature of our job. We just have to win our matches.”
City must quickly turn things around to meet expectations and get back on the path to victory.
