In a derby which kept all its promises, Real Madrid qualified for the final of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday after their 5-3 victory. One of the heroes of the evening, Joselu, who came on and scored, is one of the least happy Madrilenians after the victory and qualification.
Real Madrid qualified for the final of the Spanish Super Cup after a hotly contested match against Atlético de Madrid. The derby had to be settled in extra time, where Carlo Ancelotti’s men scored two goals to confirm their comeback, one of which was scored by Joselu, or so he claims.
Dani Carvajal, one of the best players of the match for Real Madrid, delivered a cross to Joseli’s head. But thanks to Savic’s intervention, the ball ended up entering the goal and Oblak was completely beaten. The RFEF ended up attributing the goal to defender Colchonero (a CSC). But during the post-match interview on Movistar, the very angry Spanish striker claimed responsibility for the goal and adamantly maintains that he was the one who put the ball in the back of the net.
Angry Joselu claims credit for goal awarded to Savic
In a fairly difficult match where Real Madrid found themselves in difficulty and needed goals late in the match, Carlo Ancelotti took the risk by taking out the two Brazilians, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo Goes. Arda Güler and Joselu enter and Real Madrid defeat Diego Simeone and his gang.
In extra time, the striker from Espanyol Barcelona whose presence in the area is worth highlighting allowed the Casa Blanca club to take the advantage in extra time. Unfortunately, the goal was awarded to Savic much to Joselu’s dismay. After the match, the Spanish international gave a big rant.
“I touched the ball, I saw that Dani was going to give it to me and on the first touch I touched it. I know I’m heading the ball towards the goal, so the goal is for me,” Joselu said after the match.
Although almost all the fans supported the Madrid players, Joselu found the match quite cold. “A slightly cold derby is not the same as playing with our own supporters. We were surrounded by many Real Madrid fans, but…. We were convincing in the 3-3 draw and in extra time we were superior, they showed fatigue,” he added.
It was Brahim Diaz who put the finishing touches on the match. Oblack advanced to bring the number into the Real Madrid area on one of the last corners. The Colchonero Porter then showed his difficulties in speed. He was caught by Brahim Diaz who scored in an empty camp for 5-3. Real Madrid awaits its opponent for Sunday’s final in Riyadh, who will be known in Thursday’s second semi-final between Barcelona and Osasuna.
