Bayern Munich sent a strong message on Saturday afternoon, making it clear that they are still in the race to regain the Bundesliga title. Thomas Tuchel’s side traveled to Augsburg and secured a 2-3 victory in Bundesliga matchday 19.
In an open clash against Augsburg, the suspense reached its peak in the 12th minute when midfielder Elvis Rexhbecaj seemingly opened the scoring. However, the VAR canceled the goal, and judged that the player was in an irregular position.
The Bavarians responded convincingly with goals from Aleksandar Pavlovic, Alphonso Davies and Harry Kane. Despite this, Augsburg hit back at the start of the second half thanks to a double from Ermedin Demirovic, the second from the penalty spot.
With this victory, Bayern Munich now has 47 points after 19 days, and is positioned in second place, just one point behind the leader, Bayer Leverkusen. Competition remains intense in the Bundesliga, and Bayern Munich appear determined to defend their place among the title contenders. Augsburg, for its part, is currently in 12th place with 21 points.
