Following Ghana’s unsuccessful campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2023), former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has embarked on a new quest.

Shortly after the tournament, which ended with Ivory Coast’s triumph, the Ghanaian legend has set his sights on revitalizing Ghana’s football scene. His ambition extends beyond football, aiming to catalyze the development of other sports disciplines in the country.

In a recent Twitter post, Gyan rallied sports legends to pool their influence, networks, and resources to draw investors to Ghana and make a substantial impact on the youth through sports. “The time has come for sports legends to come together, leveraging their influence, networks, and resources to attract investors to our country, making a significant impact on our youth within the sports community, including football, boxing, and other athletic disciplines,” Gyan stated.

Gyan believes strongly in the power of sports as a tool for education and the holistic development of young people. He outlined a detailed plan aimed at engaging youth, enhancing their performance, and making sports more enjoyable and appealing. “By involving our youth and training them in this manner, we can help them become more focused, make sports more enjoyable and appealing, and ultimately, bring us together as we were in the past,” he emphasized.

Asamoah Gyan concluded his message with a call for unity and collaboration to advance Ghana’s progress. “I have started this journey,” he noted, extending an invitation to his peers to join the cause and revitalize Ghanaian football.
