West Ham United manager David Moyes has expressed his disappointment at Mohamed Kudus’ final appearance for the club ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
The West Ham star will head to Ghana this weekend to begin preparations for next month’s tournament in Ivory Coast.
Kudus has performed brilliantly since joining the London club in the summer transfer window, scoring 10 goals in 23 games.
Moyes urged “other players” to step up in the Ghanaian star’s absence after Thursday night’s win over Arsenal.
Manager Moyes said after the game: It was a great start for us (we had the club's highest point total at the halfway point of the season) and we got another win. ''I keep looking only at winning, but it’s nice to be able to do that.
We want to move on and build on that.

We’re going to lose (Kudus) in the African Cup of Nations.
” So other players are going to have to step up.
This is where we need to see players come in, develop and move in this direction.
Because we desperately need them.
”
