Edmund Addo has spoken out about his absence from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The Ghanaian midfielder expressed his disappointment regarding not being selected for the tournament.

Ghana participated in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where Edmund Addo notably did not feature due to not being called up. It was a missed opportunity that left the FK Radnicki midfielder disheartened, although he expressed happiness for his teammates who did get the chance.

“Not participating in the Africa Cup of Nations was a bit disappointing for me because, you know, almost every player would love to play in the Nations Cup, the World Cup, the Champions League, etc. But it’s all good; I was happy for my colleagues who made it. I supported them massively,” he stated.

Edmund Addo returned to the Black Stars during the international break. When asked about his feelings, the midfielder stated that representing his country brings him immense joy.

“Honestly, my joy is not just about returning to the Black Stars, but rather wearing the national colors and representing my country has always been incredible and moving for me,” concluded Edmund Addo on GHANAsoccernet. The midfielder featured in both of Ghana’s matches, against Nigeria and Uganda, respectively.
