Max Alain Gradel, the two-time African champion, has left his club Gaziantep and signed with Sakaryaspor in the Turkish second division, as reported by the football news channel beIN Sport.
On social media, images of the Ivorian former footballer signing his contract with his new club can be seen.
It’s worth noting that Max Gradel has retired from the Ivorian national team but not from football altogether. He retired internationally right after the 2023 AFCON.
Several internet users have reacted to the news of the former Ivorian player’s new adventure. Comments include: “Max Gradel has nothing left to prove. He’s just playing to pass the time and increase his savings. Good luck to him”;
“Congratulations, Captain! As long as you can play, keep going! Full support”;
“Finish your career at home too, you already have the money. Give strength to the league”
“The old man doesn’t quit, huh… but I understand this way of doing things. Players retire from international duty but continue to play club football”;
“It’s not better, you’ll go to Saudi Arabia, old man. There’s money there, oh”;
“Come play for a club in Ivory Coast!!! Heeee! You could revive a team at least!”;
“As long as someone offers a paycheck, old man, take it all. Have a good season.”
