Didier Drogba’s son, Isaac, doesn’t seem keen on representing the Ivory Coast Elephants. Isaac Drogba, son of the legendary Ivorian player, expresses his desire to play for Burkina Faso.
With an Ivorian father and Malian mother, 23-year-old Isaac acknowledges that his potential makes him eligible for both the Ivory Coast and Mali, but he wishes to don the jersey of the Stallions of Burkina Faso. Former Togolese international striker Emmanuel Adebayor disclosed this during a live session on TikTok a few weeks ago.
According to Adebayor, “Drogba Junior” is more inclined towards an international career with Burkina Faso. Adebayor mentioned learning about this inclination while visiting Didier Drogba’s home during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Whether this decision will materialize remains to be seen. Currently, Isaac Drogba hasn’t made a strong impression in Europe. At 23 years old, primarily playing as a center-forward, he has scored 6 goals in 17 appearances for UR La Louvière in Belgium.
Following his abrupt departure from Academica Coimbra B in Portugal, Isaac Drogba found a new opportunity a few months ago. He has since relocated to Belgium, joining La Louvière Centre in the D2 Acff league. At this club, he aims to revive his career with hopes of achieving greatness.
