The Elephants indeed succeeded in delivering a new AFCON trophy to Côte d’Ivoire, bringing the tally to three African Cup wins.
Throughout the competition, we witnessed Ivorian players, once in the shadows, seizing the spotlight offered by the AFCON to reveal themselves to the world.
Among these players, one cannot overlook Oumar Diakité, but above all, Simon Adingra, who was unquestionably the sensation of the tournament.
And while Adingra performed admirably with Côte d’Ivoire, he is equally impressive with Brighton in the Premier League. The young Ivorian proves decisive in every encounter and has seen his transfer value skyrocket.
For a club to snatch Simon Adingra from Brighton, they will need to fork out the staggering sum of 30 million euros.
However, the young Ivorian is not the most expensive player in the Côte d’Ivoire national team’s transfer market.
He is surpassed in the rankings by three of his teammates: Ibrahim Sangaré (32 million euros), Odilon Kossounou (35 million euros), and Ousmane Diomande (40 million euros).
Wilfried Zaha, who once cost 17 million euros, now “only” commands a price tag of 14 million euros, placing him 14th in the rankings.
