Ivorian international Serge Aurier doesn’t mince his words. In a recent interview, he spoke about his rugged style of play and his indifference to criticism.
“I admit I can be a bit reckless, but that’s how I express myself on the field. I don’t know how to go easy. I like to be intense and walk away with a clear conscience. I don’t care what people say about me. I care about what my family thinks.
Many footballers worry about what people say about them on social media. I’m not like that. If I listened to everything people tell me, I’d go crazy,” he confessed. Just a reminder, Serge Aurier is the captain of the Elephants. He led his team to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations.
He’s one of the players who have won two AFCON titles, one in 2015 and more recently in 2023.
After the AFCON, the player joined his teammate Wilfried Zaha at Turkish club Galatasaray.
