Dreaming of wearing the colors of the Atlas Lions, the talented 19-year-old forward, Chemsdine Talbi, has begun the process of changing his sporting nationality. After playing in various age categories for the Belgian national team, “The Red Devils,” the young footballer now aspires to represent Morocco on the international stage.
This is a carefully considered choice, driven by the ambition to participate in upcoming major events, notably the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco and the 2026 World Cup scheduled in North America.
Sources close to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), who preferred to remain anonymous, have confirmed to “Al Arabi Al Jadid” Talbi’s commitment to the Moroccan sporting project. The young prodigy has chosen not to continue his journey with the Belgian national U19 team, having also worn the jersey for the U15s and U17s.
Convinced by the ambitious program of the FRMF, Talbi has turned down approaches from several European federations, demonstrating his determination to defend the colors of his ancestral country.
The ongoing administrative procedures with FIFA are expected to soon lead to the officialization of his change of affiliation. Talbi will then have the opportunity to play with the Moroccan U20 and U23 teams before potentially joining the ranks of the senior team led by Walid Regragui.
