Moroccan international Ez Abde has made some revelations regarding Brahim Diaz’s recent arrival in the ranks of the Atlas Lions.
As a reminder, the Real Madrid player could have opted for the Spanish national team, with which he already had a cap in 2021, but ultimately chose Morocco in March of this year after a lengthy saga.

On this matter, Ez Abde (with 15 caps) has just made a disclosure: “To tell you the truth, I spoke to him when Betis played against Real Madrid (1-1, on December 9, ed.) to tell him to come with us. And he admitted to me that he had already more or less thought about what he was going to do,” he revealed in an interview with the newspaper AS.
“Brahim made the best decision”
“I am Moroccan, and for me, Brahim made the best decision. He is a great player, and I like having the best players by my side,” added the 22-year-old winger, who hopes to compete in the Paris Olympics this summer with the Lion Cubs.
Only time will tell if Diaz made the right decision: nevertheless, his arrival in the Moroccan ranks has generated almost unprecedented enthusiasm. The next opportunity to see the Madrid player in action in the Moroccan jersey? In June, against Zambia and Congo, for the continuation of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
