Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo has succeeded in breaking a record held by Moroccan player Abderrazak Hamdallah in the Saudi Professional League.

Indeed, the current captain of Al Nassr and former Real Madrid icon, Cristiano Ronaldo, has raised his goal tally this season to 35, thus taking the lead in the Saudi league’s top scorers’ chart with a seven-goal advantage over Al Hilal striker, Aleksandar Mitrović.

Ronaldo achieved historic feats by leading his team to victory against Al Ittihad with a scoreline of 4-2 on the final matchday of the Saudi championship. He netted the first and second goals of the match in the 45th and 69th minutes respectively.

Thanks to these performances, Ronaldo has reached the highest number of goals in a single season since the inception of the Saudi Professional League in 2008-2009, surpassing the previous record of 34 goals set by Moroccan forward Abderrazak Hamdallah during the 2018-2019 season with Al Nassr.

Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in football history to win the top scorer title in four different leagues. This success not only speaks to his incredible talent and longevity but also to his ability to adapt and dominate in various championships across the globe.
