As Morocco qualifies for the Paris Olympics, PSG might allow Achraf Hakimi to participate, even though the competition doesn’t fall on a FIFA date. When asked about this decision regarding the 25-year-old right-back, Daniel Riolo took a swipe at the Parisian club.
The 2024 Olympics will take place this summer in Paris. Following a World Cup semi-final with Morocco in Qatar, Achraf Hakimi could be part of the adventure with the Atlas Lions. Indeed, PSG seems ready to greenlight their number 2 to participate in the competition. Will PSG give the green light to Hakimi for the Olympics?
Despite the Paris Olympics not being scheduled on a FIFA date, Daniel Riolo dropped a punchline about PSG’s choice regarding Achraf Hakimi. “PSG allowing Achraf Hakimi to participate in the Olympics? Apparently, it’s to please him and say, ‘extend your contract.’ That’s always the right approach,” quipped the RMC Sport journalist, before adding further criticism.
“It’s funny because there are clubs that show what needs to be done, PSG always does the opposite. PSG, when it needs to bow down to a player, it does. So, Hakimi says, ‘I want to go to the Olympics,’ ‘yeah, but then you extend.’ It’s always the wrong approach. This club is incredible, it’s crazy,” concluded Daniel Riolo on Wednesday night’s After Foot show.
