Samuel Chukwueze’s participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations could be delayed as Italian giants AC Milan consider extending the Super Eagles winger’s release date.

The 23-year-old striker is due to join the Nigerian camp on January 2, but the Serie A club is lobbying to extend his stay beyond his expected arrival date at CAF.

According to This Day, Milan have entered into negotiations with the Nigeria Football Association and requested that Chukwueze be released on January 3 as the winger is expected to be available for the second round of the Copa Italia.

The Super Eagles winger will be available for Milan’s Serie A match against Sassuolo on the 30th, and the club hope to have him available for the game against Cagliari on January 3rd, the day after he is scheduled to join the Nigeria camp.
