Ademola Lookman took some time before finally finding a place where he could fully express his talent. After moving from one club to another in recent years, the Nigerian international has finally revived his career.
Arriving in Italy in the summer of 2022, the 26-year-old striker quickly found his footing and is now one of the standout players for Atalanta Bergamo. However, in an interview with The Athletic, Lookman hinted that he missed the Premier League:
“The Premier League suits my style perfectly because it’s fast, technical, physical, and it’s the country where I grew up. But discovering the football culture in Italy is truly special. The match preparations, the atmosphere in the stadium, and the fans’ love for football. It’s very special.”
Having had stints at Everton, Leicester, and Fulham, the Super Eagle unfortunately failed to excel during his time in England. His brief spell in Germany with RB Leipzig was promising, but not enough for Die Roten Bullen to keep him longer. Today, in Italy, the Nigerian is finally thriving.
Under contract with Bergamo until 2026, Ademola Lookman earns €2,310,000, or 1,501,500,000 FCFA, per year. The Nigerian’s current market value stands at €30 million. In the current season, the London native has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in Serie A.
