Victor Osimhen will not join the Super Eagles for Nigeria’s two friendly matches this month due to injury. Ivory Coast will also be without Hamed Junior Traoré.
This marks the first time the unfortunate finalists of the 2023 AFCON are set to play. They have two friendly matches this month, against Ghana and Mali, scheduled for March 22nd and 26th, respectively.
One of the key players in the tournament hosted and won by Ivory Coast, Osimhen, will not be featuring in their upcoming matches. The Napoli striker will remain at the club during the break, according to a statement revealing the list of released players.
Osimhen is suffering from inflammation of a scar from a previous injury. The Nigerian is not the only African player from Napoli who will miss the break, as Hamed Junior Traoré will not join the Ivory Coast team for their friendly matches against Benin and Uruguay.
