Even though Victor Osimhen has extended his contract with Napoli until 2026, it seems that the Nigerian striker will be the big sale of the summer for the Italian club.
The 25-year-old player is linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with the club already identifying his replacement.
Indeed, PSG has set its sights on Osimhen to replace Kylian Mbappé, who will depart for Real Madrid as a free agent. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the chosen player is the Canadian Jonathan David from Lille, who has been in excellent form this season.
David has succeeded Osimhen at Lille, and now Napoli will repeat the process.
The player has already agreed to Napoli’s project, with the “Azzurri” offering €35 million to sign him. However, Lille is demanding around €50 million to let go of their star player.
David has scored 23 goals and provided 7 assists in 40 matches this season and could add to his tally with the remaining games.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen has had a somewhat challenging 2023/24 season with Napoli, with inconsistent performances.
The African Ballon d’Or winner, this season with Napoli, has played 27 matches, scoring 15 goals and providing 3 assists, a far cry from his performances last year.
