Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is reportedly on the verge of signing with PSG, according to information from the Italian press.

Football circles are buzzing today with news that 25-year-old Victor Osimhen is close to a transfer to PSG. According to the Neapolitan newspaper Il Mattino, details of the contract awaiting the current Napoli striker in Paris have been revealed.

PSG: contract, salary… Victor Osimhen's arrival imminent!

He would commit to a four-year deal, with an annual salary of €13 million, ranking him as the fifth-highest-paid player in the team behind Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, and Milan Skriniar, each earning €1.1 million gross per month according to L’Equipe. Kylian Mbappé still holds the highest salary in the squad, though it’s anticipated he’ll leave the club at the end of the season. The transfer fee would amount to €120 million, with Osimhen retaining 100% of his image rights, as reported by Il Mattino. The transfer would be facilitated by the payment of his release clause set at €120 million, with negotiations still to be finalized between Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli.

Having been crowned Serie A champion last season as the top scorer, Osimhen has always held a special affection for the Parisian club, although he has expressed a desire to play in the Premier League. He reportedly made a recent trip to the Paris region aboard a private flight for personal reasons, according to the specialized account GuillaumeMP. If this transition materializes, Osimhen will be tasked with the monumental challenge of succeeding Kylian Mbappé, who is set to depart for Real Madrid at the end of the season, although this transition has not yet been officially announced.

Following a remarkable season in Italy where he scored 31 goals in 39 matches, surpassing the records of Samuel Eto’o and George Weah, the former Lille player has seen a deterioration in his relationship with his club. With reduced efficiency in front of goal, he has been subject to ridicule from his club, against a backdrop of racism that Nigeria has openly criticized. After four years in Campania, his departure now seems inevitable.
